What is Rehabilitation? | Shirokanedai NAG Orthopedics

What is Private (Self-Pay) Rehabilitation?

Standard insurance-covered rehabilitation is conducted within a designated number of days and specific guidelines under medical or long-term care insurance.

In contrast, private rehabilitation is not covered by public insurance, which allows patients to receive treatment in an environment free from such restrictions.

In conventional hospital rehabilitation, the duration of treatment is strictly limited depending on the medical condition. Once you reach the maximum number of days allowed under insurance coverage, you can no longer receive rehabilitation services at that facility.

At our clinic, we do not offer insurance-covered rehabilitation. All of our rehabilitation services are provided exclusively as private, self-pay treatment (out-of-pocket). Because our private rehabilitation is free from insurance constraints, you can continue your recovery at your own pace and according to your personal goals, without worrying about time limits.

The Benefits of Private Care

Precisely because it is privately funded, we are not bound by a fixed number of days or strict time constraints. This enables us to dedicate ample time to each individual, creating a customized rehabilitation program tailored specifically to your condition and goals.

Whether you experience pain in your knees or lower back when walking for long periods, shoulder pain when doing laundry, or difficulty climbing stairs, we target the root cause of your pain to alleviate daily physical discomfort and improve your quality of life, while helping you rebuild necessary muscle strength and physical stamina.

Our service not only makes daily life more comfortable but also supports you in enhancing your sports performance and maintaining a more active lifestyle.

Flow of the Session

We do not just treat localized symptoms. We evaluate your gait (how you walk), posture, and physical habits to provide a highly satisfying, one-on-one rehabilitation service with a unique program tailored just for you.

Our programs generally follow this sequence (contents may vary depending on the selected menu):

Gait & Movement Evaluation → Manual Therapy → Exercise Therapy → Relaxation

  1. Manual Therapy aims to alleviate pain, improve range of motion, and adjust physical habits.
  2. Exercise Therapy focuses on strengthening the muscles around the affected area and improving overall physical stamina.
  3. Relaxation is provided as post-exercise care to relieve accumulated fatigue.

Key Rehabilitation Components

Movement Evaluation

We analyze your posture and physical habits, which can be root causes of your symptoms, and design a personalized program. We pay special attention to evaluating your gait (how you walk).

Manual Therapy

To relieve pain and improve function based on your specific condition, our licensed physical therapists provide hands-on treatment. This approach improves the functionality of joints and muscles, helping you regain independent movement.

Exercise Therapy

We utilize specific exercises to treat and prevent symptoms. To minimize the risk of muscle weakness or secondary pain caused by your condition, we provide tailored strengthening and sports performance programs based on your symptoms.

Relaxation

In addition to pain treatment, muscle strengthening, and stamina-building exercises, we offer relaxation techniques to soothe muscle tiredness from exercise and relieve daily fatigue.
